The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,  to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,  until all of us come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
Ephesians 4: 11-13

Equipping Ministry

How is God calling you to make a difference?
At The Purple Door Church, we believe that all of us share a calling to follow Jesus, be his disciples, and join him in his ongoing work of ministry in the world. We call this our “Equipping Ministry.” This involves many facets—primarily, understanding our gifts and passions, and then hearing and responding to what God is calling us to do. Our ultimate goal is for each member of the church to become a Disciple of Christ—to love, grow, and serve as God has directed.

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,  to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,  until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,  to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

OUR CULTURE

Equipping Ministry is not a program at St. John, it is our culture.  The role of our church leaders is to invite, prepare, and send Christians into service in the church.  The opportunity to do ministry is extended to all

NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT

Church life is not about sitting back in a comfortable pew and watching a few people on stage perform ministry. Church life is about fully participating; engaging in Christian ministry.
