Be Involved

The Bible teaches the priesthood of all believers – meaning every believer has a responsibility to minister to others using the gifts and abilities God gave them.

We believe:

We have all been given gifts by God  (Ephesians 4:1-16)

The gifts given to each of us are different and vital to the body of Christ  (1 Corinthians 12)

We are challenged by God to put these gifts into action  (Romans 12:1-8)

St. John Lutheran Church is committed to acting on our mission statement of “Making the Love of Christ Known.”  We recognize that people come to our church family with differing gifts and needs.  We offer a variety of ministries which allow people the opportunity to serve others, grow in faith, and cultivate valuable relationships.

Here I Am, Lord, Send Me!

Once you have made the decision to become an active participant of St. John, we have many tools to help you find your “sweet spot” in ministry.

These include:

A spiritual gift inventory which is a short questionnaire designed to help you figure out which gifts God has given you.

Ministry Opportunity booklet published each year to give you information about all of the different ways you can serve.

A staff member to meet with you one-on-one to help match your gifts and passions with a ministry.

If you have any questions or would like to begin the process of getting involved, contact Heather Kuhn, Church Administrator.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

The Holy Land is where it all started; the lands into which Abraham first walked from Ur, the land which God promised to Abraham and his descendants. Monotheism started here and this is where Isaac, Jacob, Sara and Lea lived. This is the land all armies and nations have, for generations, aspired to conquer and control, the land where David triumphed over Goliath, and where Solomon built his temple.

But above all, Christians need to be here because this is where Jesus was born, crucified and resurrected. Only in the Holy Land will you be able to walk where Jesus walked, to follow in his footsteps, to see and feel the places where the disciples walked with the Lord, where Jesus preformed his miracles and the place where he was nailed to the cross to forgive the sins of all Christians.

Pilgrimage following the Footsteps of

St. Paul

Apostle Paul was Christianity's greatest missionary, responsible for writing over half the New Testament and spreading the gospel in the first century AD.  In August of 2021, we will pilgrimage together,  walking in the footsteps of St. Paul in Greece.

On this pilgrimage we will visit many of the cities that we read about in Paul’s letters, walking where he walked and listening to passages from his letters being read in the very places from which they were written. We will pray together, learn together, and share Eucharist together, all while visiting incredibly beautiful and historic sites and growing together as a community. We will visit Athens and Corinth, and cruise the Greek Isles. In each of these locations we will explore religious sites and immerse ourselves in the local culture.

Kite Festival

A fun afternoon of kite flying, dinner and fellowship. Bring your own kite or use one provided. We have 5 different catagories each year for you to compete in along with bounce houses, gaga ball and a playground for the little ones.
